It works OK and is fun. The ball bearings are cheating a bit but at least you get to practice...and it is tricky to get a flame from the glowing coal. I think you have to make a tiny bird nest of tinder to hold the coal and the heat as you blow on it.
Bit confusing compared to bow drills. I think if I can get the hang out it though it would make sense. I got it for a firecamp program and it's a great tool for that. Love it!

I got this for my nephew for his birthday. He was very excited to get started, and I immediately disclaimed any potential arsons. Quality seems nice, but I don�t have a lot to compare it to.
